Miami

I'm in Miami at the moment with the famil staying in an apartment on the canal. The view is great here from 2nd floor. It was nice looking out over Miami this morning, the dolphins were entertaining us too playing around in the water.

Today we went out on the everglades(big swampie area) with an airboat. We saw a lot of animals like Alligators, Iguana's, Snakes and turtles. The turtles didn't say dude like Nemo's friends but they were cool anyways. Then Dad took for sushi here in Mami at a place where the sushi is on a boat and the boats swim around on a little canal...pretty funky! Yip I just used the word funky :)

Tomorrow morning Bernd and I are going fishing and then we are going for some jetskiing in the afternoon...should be good fun!

Thursday and Friday Jomar and I are going to the blue monster at the Doral resort to watch a PGA event...and Tiger's playing wow a dream come true for me! Andrew is coming down from Colubus to visit aswell...great stuff!

I managed to break my camera, not very clever so my supply of photo's is low right now but I'll try get picture or two from Dad or Bernd.

Love to you all! Jorg

March, April...SA

My time in Florida is almost done now. Next week Bernd and mom and dad are arriving so I'm taking a few days off work to travel a bit with them and go jol a bit around Miami and Key West. I broke my Camera the other day so thats why I havn't been posting pictures...clever german boy!

So I'm off today and just sitting in front of the PC eating a cheese-steak hot pocket(almost but not a pie). Today I get to do the things I love doing and since its nice and sunny I'm off to the pool and then down to the golf course.

See ya'll (American for "see you all" incase you were wondering)

And a wise quote I got from a friend...remember no matter how much you push the envelope it's still stationary...keep that in mind for the next time you feel like you are pushing the envelope or maybe when you are having your envelope pushed or maybe just when you decide to post a letter. Thats if people still post letters.

Update

Ok ja so its been a while since an update so here goes.

I can't believe its almost March already here in Boca...well not just in Boca but none the less you understand what I'm saying. Time has really flown by and now its only 2 months and then I'll be back in Somerset West...crazy thought.

A few things have happened in the new year. Amongst all the work and golf Steven was here until early January. Then at the end of January Jono rangoonwala came to visit for a week. My Papa and Mama are also here at the moment and I have already loafed around Miami with them for 2 days. They on a cruise at the moment and will be back in Florida in early March along with Bernd. We are going on a family holiday(minus Mirko, would be kif if you were here boet) to Key West for a few days.

Besides one cold week the weather here is really great. Its nice and mild and the sun shines every day so it really sets up well for doing outdoor stuff.

I went to a place called Boomers about 2 weeks ago where we really had a good time go-karting, laser shooting, climbing, playing mini-golf ect. Me and Mike had a head on collision too while laser questing. I thought I'd give the next person around the corner a nice, big fright in the dark room. So when I heard someone running I dived out and before I said BOOH we knocked heads. All I manged to give him was a toothmark in the head which he wore for a few days.

A few of us visited Sea World in Orlando today. What a jol! It is a once in a lifetime experience. Besides the fun rollercoasters the Animal shows are unbelievable. Dolphins and Whales doing all sorts of tricks, and experiencing their nature close up really moves something inside you.

Goodnight for now people. Hope you are all well and enjoying each moment you live.

Christmas & New Years

It was my first Xmas away from home this year. I went to a Xmas party on Xmas eve with the South Africans and Steve was down from Columbus so he joined to. It was a true American style Xmas eve celebration with Carols, a message and lots of food. We did a secret santa amongst all the South Africans so everyone got at least a present. It was a very cheerful celebration with everyone in good spirit.

New years Steven, Darryl, Shaun, Tracy, Keith and I went out to a place called Porter House. I worked until 11 that night so I just made it before the 2009 countdown. When I first arrived at the venue there were 90% old people (50 years and up, so yes mom that includes you now :) but later on they left and the young people started coming so we could jol a bit.

Steven was down for the past 2 weeks which was really cool. He stayed with me for a few days and also with Darryl. We(Me,Darryn Pitout, Steven and Keith) went down to South Beach in Miami which is a really beautiful beach. Palm trees all over the place and clear water. We managed to get into the Ritz hotel, which is right on the beach front, and ended up swimming there and loafing in the Jacuzzi. The beach is really amazing! It's Crowded with people for as far as you can see, even during the week.

I will try post some more photo's here soon it is giving me trouble uploading them at the moment. If you havn't seen them yet look on my facebook profile. Probably going to Calvary Chapel service tomorrow night again. I'll take some phot's and post them if I can.

Miss all you South Africans!

Keith getting ready to take on Nadal

Bernd and I on the way to Miami Beach

Some Catch Up 3rd-23rd December

The past few weeks here have been eventful. Yesterday I went to miami airport to see my boetie who was stopping over on his way to Berlin from Managua. Johan, Mike and I made a mission in the morning and we met up with Bernd at lunch time. We ended up going down to miami beach but the weather wasn't great so the beach wasn't that good. We took the train back at around 5 o' clock and finally got home at about 730 after getting ourselves a bit lost.

Last week Wednesday I went to stay at Darryls place in coconut creek. I pedled my way to the bus on my red bicycle and caught a bus with him after work. We ended up going to a young adult church service at calvary chapal. The church is really really big. It looks a bit like a mall 'cause each department has it's own building. It has a restuarant and soccer field with flood lights. The service was really professional. The preaching was great and they had a really good band playing praise and worship.

Now it's almost Xmas time. The people here are quite fanatical and really get into the festive spirit. They put reindeer horns and red noses onto their cars and most of the cars I park at work have jingle bells or something like that playing.

I also went to a Portuguese service with One of the guys I work with(Marcel). That was quite an experience. The service was 3.5 hours long and in Portuguese. The singing was nice and the people were all really friendly. They invited me for supper and one guy sat next to me and translated the whole message.

I am going to an ice hockey game tonight which should be interesting. One of the members own a NHL hockey team so we were sponsered some tickets. Apparently the players are allowed to fight so that should be entertaining to watch. Steven Is also coming to visit for a while today.

Will try put some pictures up after this post.

Merry Christmas! Or as the Portuguese say: "Perlis Navidad"
